In this study securization is reviewed. A literature survey about how the securization is carried out is performed in detail. Its current status in Turkey is evaluated. Both types of the securitization system (asset-backed and mortgage based) have been used in Turkey and besides advantages, shortcomings are also determined. Consequently, reasons for those shortcomings are presented and solutions are suggested. Those suggestions will be used as a base for evaluation of securization cases planned as future work. The securitization proces has turned into a financial instrument which has been developed and used recently as a resourcing tool. With the process of securitization, non illiquid receivables turn into illiquid fund to financial system. The process of securitization can be conducted on many receivables. Because of securization, institutions obtain new resources.
